Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Safety Training Coordinator is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by providing safety support for the onsite construction team.
LOCATION
This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop Safety Training program for the project
- Lead and facilitate Safety Training Session
- Maintain and organize Safety Training documentation
- Collaborate with site Supervisors to schedule and track safety training
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive safety training matrix
- Conduct safety needs gap analysis and recommend improvements
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized safety training
- Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met.
- Perform regular site inspections and equipment checks
- Evaluates and identifies all safety equipment needs for project work. Participates in daily and weekly meetings to ensure all necessary equipment is ordered, stocked and available for upcoming work.
- Develop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standards.
- Assisting in the investigation of accidents and determining root causes and recommend corrective /preventive measures.
- Ensures worksite injuries are accurately documented, and offsite medical clinics attend to employee injury in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform and document job site inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
- Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist safety manager with the required documentation and reporting.
- Conduct orientations for new personnel.
- Provide overall safety support for the office and the field operations (Geo campaign, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) works, and the rest of the subs).
- Verify contract compliance requirements and regulations in terms of Health & Safety.
- Develop pending procedures and forms to be used in the project.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
At a minimum, the Safety Training Coordinator must have a bachelor’s degree in safety management, environmental science, occupational health, or related field of study, along with 10 years of direct safety experience in the construction industry and proven, basic, knowledge and experience of Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, possess, or the ability to obtain, the OSHA-500 Certification and possess a valid and current driver’s license OR a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 14 years of direct safety experience in the construction industry and proven, basic, knowledge and experience of Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, possess or the ability to obtain, the OSHA-500 Certification and possess a valid and current driver’s license.
