The Press Operator will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and operating the printing press to reproduce print materials. They will understand print production process, client expectations, and brand standards to ensure quality control. They will work closely with team members to follow project templates and timelines to meet project deadlines.
The Press Operator will assist with maintaining inventory to ensure supplies are available and equipment is operational. The ideal candidate will be able to check print quality, troubleshoot problems, and perform routine maintenance on equipment. They will also maintain cleanliness in the production room and work well in a team environment. Position reports to Print Production Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Set up the press including preparing the press, ink, rollers, and paper for the job
- Start the press and pull proofs to check the quality
- Make adjustments to the press to meet quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance on the press
- Troubleshoot, identify, and correct issues with the press
- Maintain inventory of supplies for press operation
- Keep the area around the press clean
- Assist in scheduling and meeting production deadlines
- Submit reports on daily production totals
- Follow safety procedures and have a sharp eye for detail
Required Education: • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Experience: • 2 years of experience in a copy center or internal production type position
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of various types of high-volume copying equipment and binding systems such as Konica Minolta bizhubPro style printers and Sharp MX 5110N Color copiers, as well as GBC binding equipment.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign are required for this position
- Experience with a variety of printing machines and with computer-controlled machines that cut, shape, and design materials
- Must have stamina, a good mechanical aptitude, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities to ensure timely delivery of work product
- Ability to travel and drive own or other vehicle to various locations as needed
- Ability to carry up to 20 pounds on an as needed basis
Preferred Experience: • 5 years of experience in a copy center or internal production type position
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Expertise in various types of high-volume copying equipment and binding systems
