Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group career counseling, resume reviews, interview coaching, and job search assistance.
- Develop and facilitate workshops on career readiness topics, including resume writing, interview techniques, job search strategies, and professional networking.
- Assist students with career assessments and help them explore career pathways aligned with their skills and interests.
Employer Engagement & Job Placement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional employers to develop internship, co-op, and job placement opportunities for students.
- Coordinate employer recruiting events, including job fairs, networking events, and on-campus interviews.
- Act as a liaison between students, faculty, and employers to facilitate meaningful employment connections.
- Help manage and optimize the Handshake platform to maximize student access to job and internship opportunities.
- Train students, faculty, and employers on how to use Handshake effectively.
- Monitor job postings, employer registrations, and student engagement on the platform, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Program Development & Reporting
- Collaborate with faculty and academic advisors to integrate career readiness into academic programs.
- Track and analyze student employment outcomes, internship participation, and program effectiveness.
- Prepare reports and presentations on career services activities, engagement metrics, and success stories.
Required Education:
o Experience in career services, student affairs, human resources, or a related field.
o Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
o Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and employers.
Work Environment & Schedule
- This position is based on-campus with occasional travel for employer visits, job fairs, and professional development events.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required for special events.
