Examples Of Work
Plans and supervises maintenance activities on the state highway system within an assigned parish, utilizing available resources in the most efficient manner to achieve desired objectives in accordance with DOTD quality and safety standards and established policies.
Establishes priorities to prepare work schedules and utilizing inspection reports to ensure efficient use of resources and manpower in making work assignment.
Evaluates performance of subordinates.
Coordinates work performed by district wide crews.
Ensures the proper reporting of activities, manpower, equipment, and material used so that proper documentation can be made.
Assists subordinates with leave record and approves leave.
Coordinates the training program in the assigned parish to ensure that personnel are trained in accordance with department policy.
Responds to requests or complaints by public officials, property owners, and other parties; takes corrective action if warranted.
Responds to emergencies on a twenty-four hour basis in order to protect the traveling public.
Assists the Parish Maintenance Specialist in performing annual road inspections.
Ensures proper maintenance and servicing of equipment to increase life of equipment.
