T his Professional Counselor position is for a vacancy located in our Family Functional Therapy Unit housed in Hammond, Louisiana. This Professional Counselor position will provide services in the community and/or homes of families. Traveling throughout Tangipahoa, St. Helena and Livingston Parishes will be required.
This clinician provides Functional Family Therapy-Child Welfare (FFT-CW) for youth and families served by Florida Parishes Human Services Authority that are involved in the criminal justice system, Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) programs, wraparound services with youth families that are at-risk of child abuse and/or neglect. The clinician will provide services in the community or in the home and rarely in an office setting and are available to work non-traditional and flexible work hours including being available on weekends.
The clinician completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, treatment via the FFT-CW model, as well as discharge plans for families as needed. The clinician works on a FFT-CW team with oversight from FFT, LLC in order to provide thorough and comprehensive care, as well as continuity of care, and will prepare and send progress reports to the appropriate social service agencies and referral sources as required. The clinician may also assist in the acquisition of appropriate resources as needed.
Additionally, the clinician attends annual and PRN trainings and webinars to improve competency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The clinician also works collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists, Case Management, and Care Coordination for family members with mental health and substance use disorders that may require additional support and coordination of services.
