Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of an associate degree and/or relevant professional certification is preferred
- Strong computer skills in data entry, ACCESS, and MSWord to accurately input data, prepare materials, compile data, make reports, create correspondence, and develop other materials
- Strong telephone and customer service skills
- Knowledge of and/or experience in grants or contract work and/or child care programs is preferred
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work well with persons of all ages, races, sex, educational levels, etc.
- Ability to travel throughout Louisiana and work some evenings and Saturdays as needed
- Ability to coordinate with other activities related to the project
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Primary responsibility is processing daily mail to include date stamping, data entry of information, enrolling new members, and determining work flow for career ladder leveling
- Provide technical assistance to Providers seeking scholarships and meeting requirements
- Maintain records of training approved and taken by individual providers
- Prepare and distribute materials in a timely manner
- Perform filing tasks for extended periods of time
- Create and distribute materials in a timely manner, including faxing, email, mailing, and transporting mail to the post office
- Work with program coordinator and statewide child care resource and referral programs to ensure accuracy of information and records
- Respond to inquiries about system according to guidelines
- Stay abreast of child care provider's training and scholarship needs, concerns, and interests related to the program
- Develop and maintain good relationships with child care centers and family care providers, child care resource and referral staff, trainers, and others
- Participate in evaluation of program and outcomes of services
- Promote the importance of training to child care staff, public officials, and the public
- Maintain knowledge of current training requirements by the Department of Education
- Serve as a role model of continual training and professionalism
- Help prepare training materials for meetings and conferences
- Assist in developing, preparing, and organizing materials to promote system
- Help set up and conduct promotional events
- Assist with contracted services and other program services or other tasks as requested or needed
- Assist in conducting training in benefits and how the system works at meetings and conferences
- Determine placement of individuals on career ladders based on education and professional activity
- Assist with processing scholarship applications
- Record messages and be responsible for voicemail daily
- Set up and conduct meetings to facilitate providers' applications
- Develop, prepare, and organize materials to promote scholarship applications
- Arrange and attend out of town and statewide meetings as scheduled or needed to meet goals of project
- Respond to inquiries about the system according to guidelines
