Summary
Inspection of EQUIPMENT used by horses and riders during races at a racetrack. The Paddock Judge falls into several categories. Inspection of horses and riders' equipment typically begins with the arrival of the horses and riders at the racetrack.
- Inspection of Horse Racing Equipment and Course Management, and Racing Operations.
- The Paddock Judge will determine that the equipment is meeting track state Racing Commission specifications.
- The Paddock Judge's job includes scheduling arrivals of horses riders in the paddock area, as well as following up after each race to ensure that equipment meets all necessary regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School diploma/certified GED
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Louisiana State Racing License
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English
- Must be able to read and write
- Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 115 degrees or cold as low as 10 degrees.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules due to the needs of the business, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, including all racing days.
