Job Duties:
This position leverages machine learning and generative AI to enhance the understanding and improvement of how health care is valued, utilized and provided. This position will assist in developing analytic and predictive models that pertain to patient level health utilization/outcome, provider performance measures, risk-adjusted revenue optimization, medical cost management, and behavior attributes on patient/provider engagement. In collaboration with other business areas and IT, this position provides predictive and prescriptive analytics support through innovative machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies, with a special emphasis on generative AI to create innovative solutions and insights.
Required Qualifications:
Degree program(s) / Current Status: Senior level undergraduate, recent graduate or graduate level student in a related field, preferably in data science, statistics, economics, mathematics, analytics, computer science, or other quantitative/health care field.
Cumulative GPA: 3.5 GPA preferred; minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Previous internship experience is not required but preferred.
Other Qualifications:
Must have proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel).
Must have basic working knowledge of Python.
Must have basic working knowledge of SQL.
Preferred experience working with front-end development architectures (React, NodeJS, etc.).
Preferred experience working with databases (MySQL, SQLServer, Teradata, etc.).
Preferred experience working with statistics libraries (Pandas, MatPlotLib, SciPy, etc.).
Preferred experience with machine learning and AI libraries (OpenAI, SciKit Learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc.).
Preferred experience working with data visualization software (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
Knowledge of predictive analytics, statistical analysis, and/or practical use of large language models.
Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication abilities.
Basic knowledge of United States health care delivery system in payer setting or provider setting
Must be able to think analytically and present ideas professionally.
Self-motivated, adaptable to a changing work environment, and team-oriented.
Undergraduates and Graduate Level students must be able to work 20 hours/week during the Spring/Fall semesters and 30-35 hours/week during the summer.
