THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director of Talent Management is responsible for partnering with the CEO, Leaders and Team Members in order to design, develop, implement and measure the effectiveness of talent strategies and operations at all school locations. These talent operations must be established in alignment with LKA's mission, values, and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Talent Management plays a critical role in establishing systems and partnering with leadership to identify, acquire and develop talent in a way that is inclusive, sustains a positive culture and supports employee engagement. This role will include responsibility and oversight for traditional Human Resources Risk and Compliance functions ensuring secure and privacy data practices are executed in a way that protects the organization and is in fidelity with employment law.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Organization Design, Talent Planning & Change Management Support
Lead annual talent planning efforts to help leaders identify talent gaps.
Partner with CEO and key leaders to design organization structure changes when needed and build change management plans to ensure structure changes and transitions are as seamless as possible.
Partner with leaders to ensure that Change Management plans are created and used to ensure operational changes are implemented effectively with the proper communications and training needed to support leaders and employees implement new processes.
Lead annual talent review process highlighting high potential and key succession candidates for all locations.
Partner with CEO and key leaders to define key attributes and competencies expected for all leaders and team leaders. Build these attributes and competencies into all talent operations and update annually.
Talent Acquisition, & Onboarding
Provide strategic oversight and management of the talent acquisition process including implementation of creative strategies to attract diverse, high-caliber candidates who are aligned with LKA's core values.
Partner with CMO and school leaders to create job descriptions for all positions that include key responsibilities, attributes and competencies.
Manage standards and processes for job posting, candidate interviews, and selection of candidates at all school locations.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships and manage recruiting vendors needed to meet current and future talent needs.
Partner with leaders at all levels to develop and implement onboarding plans purposed to ensure consistent experiences and smooth transitions for all new hires into the LKA community.
Gather and analyze hiring, retention, job growth, and exit data to support talent operations, support positive culture and improve employee retention.
Development, Performance Management & Retention
Partner with Total Rewards team on strategic approaches for incentivizing, recognizing and retaining high potential and key succession candidates.
Partner with CMO and school leaders to develop and oversee professional development programs for faculty and staff.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance employee skills and promote learning on professional development topics.
Partner with Total Rewards team to design and maintain a robust performance management system that ensures continual and proactive feedback and improvement plans when needed.
Partner with CMO and key leaders to sustain employee engagement by gathering employee feedback and building plans to measure progress in response to employee concerns.
Partner with CEO and Total Rewards team to develop and implement performance-based and equitable compensation structures
Partner with school leaders to develop and sustain strategies to recognize employee accomplishments and behaviors aligned with LKA's core values
Partner with Total Rewards team to manage employee benefit providers and offerings as part of LKA's total compensation package; work with benefit providers to optimize offerings and ensure employee satisfaction.
Manage Employee Relations operations focused on resolution of concerns, conflicts and grievances. Serve as trusted advisor on such matters.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure Talent operations are efficient, effective, and compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Advise leadership team on employee handbooks, policies, and procedures as needed.
Support legal team with investigations as needed.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
7 years of experience in Human Resources Operations, HR Strategic Business Partner, Organizational Development and / or Talent Management
Demonstrated Knowledge of best practices in talent management within an organization of 300 employees and multiple locations
In-depth, demonstrated knowledge of employment laws and regulations
Experience with HRIS system implementation
Demonstrated change management experience with understanding of communications planning and training
Experience partnering with leaders to demonstrate enthusiasm in their teams for company's mission, vision, and values
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated Knowledge of best practices in talent management within an independent school or higher education settin
