Position : Process Engineer
Primary Report to : Operations Manager and Chloride Process (CP) Department Superintendent
Primary Supervision of : None
Required Qualification : B.S. in Engineering and preferably 3 years manufacturing process experience.
Responsibilities / Key Activities
- Provide assistance to the CP Department and Maintenance regarding questions on process problems, plant design and materials of construction. Provide input and / or respond to employee suggestions.
- Participate in all Management of Change reviews and implementation for the CP plant.
- Initiate Engineering Service Requests for engineering projects in CP. Act as liaison between the Engineering Dept. project team and CP plant throughout the course of all CP projects. Participate in plant prioritization meetings.
- Handle small projects to improve the CP process and safety.
- Evaluate environmental releases and determine quantities released if possible.
- Participate in the evaluation of process improvement plant trials.
- Issue monthly status report on all process engineering activities.
- Assist in assuring an environmentally safe operation and provide direction for correcting any potential environmental threat.
- Keep current on new technology and equipment improvements in the chemical industry. Keep current on new CP process developments from other sites.
- Review all CP plant P & ID updates.
- Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required.
