Position Overview

This role is ideal for someone who centers the organization’s work around its people first and foremost, loves building the long-term strategy while managing the nearer term projects, and measures success in the strength of the culture and the indicators that verify what is felt by those inside of the organization. Serving as an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of HR will provide strategic leadership to the organization thereby ensuring a high performing, engaged, diverse, and inclusive team that operates in accordance with our values. The Director of HR is responsible for establishing and administering policies and programs to support the overall strategic direction of the organization and providing proactive leadership and professional expertise in all areas of human resources management, including benefits, compensation, payroll, employee relations, compliance, and performance across employees and volunteers

Strategic HR Leadership
? Develop and execute a strategic HR plan that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives
? Act as a strategic partner to senior management, providing insights, data-driven recommendations, and solutions on key HR issues
? Stay updated on HR trends, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and effective policy implementation
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
? Oversee organization-wide staffing strategy, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention
? Partner with division/department heads to forecast talent needs and develop succession planning to build a strong employee and volunteer pipeline
Performance Management & Development
? Implement and manage a comprehensive performance management system, including performance appraisals, development plans, and feedback mechanisms
? Collaborate with managers to identify employee development needs, career paths, and training programs that enhance skills and productivity
? Work with managers throughout the organization to help define, establish, and communicate annual goals for staff, and ensure that managers are tracking progress against goals
Employee Relations & Engagement
? Address and provide conflict resolution to complex employee relations issues
? Oversee the annual employee engagement survey, analyze results, and work with leaders to implement action plans for continuous improvement
Compensation & Benefits Management (periodically)
? Works collaboratively with CFO to ensure compensation and benefits strategies are competitive and equitable
? Collaborate with external consultants and internal stakeholders to evaluate and adjust compensation structures as necessary
Compliance & Risk Management
? Oversee HR policies, procedures, and practices to maintain a legally compliant, fair, and ethical work environment
? Conduct regular audits of HR practices to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement
? Ensure employee handbook is in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
HR Analytics & Reporting
? Provide regular reports to senior management, including analysis of key HR metrics, workforce trends, and recommendations
? Use data-driven insights to develop metrics that will refine HR strategies, improve employee and volunteer retention, and optimize recruitment efforts
Compensation:
- Compensation begins at $85,000 and ranges up to $100,000 based on years of experience

168 hours PTO (prorated based on the date of hire) and 9 paid holidays, with two additional floating holidays

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
Experience
? 8-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving impactful HR strategies in fast-paced, mission-driven organizations
? 5 years in senior HR leadership roles, providing strategic direction and fostering strong organizational culture, employee engagement, and operational efficiency
? Expertise in data analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives, identify trends, and provide data-driven insights for strategic decision-making and workforce planning
? Extensive experience in payroll management, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while optimizing payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy
? Proven success in Learning & Development (L&D), designing and implementing training programs that enhance employee skills and productivity, including delivering engaging presentations and workshops to staff and leadership
? Strong background in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits management, all aimed at building a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive workforce
Certifications
SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other relevant HR certifications strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
Work Environment
The role primarily operates in an office setting. Travel between multiple campuses and locations across south Louisiana for recruitment events. Occasional national travel when required.
