Job Description
Operations Supervisor for our Louisiana Spirits Distillery Site located in Lacassine, La. We are hiring a supervisor to lead the bottling team in safely achieving monthly targets while bottling rum, bourbon, whiskey, and vodka blends. This supervisor will lead, motivate, develop, and coach our team.
- Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Operate forklift to load and unload shipments as required (authorized personnel only)
- Oversee regular cleaning and maintenance of bottling area
- Monitor, pick, and inventory materials used in workstation on a daily basis
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of bottling stations and bottling equipment
- Update bottling line equipment configuration to meet demand
- Operate all bottling equipment and general labor duties
- Assist with logistics to assure efficient product flow
- Perform bottling line stations preventative maintenance as needed
- Assist in various projects as needed, including inventory reconciliation, month end/year end close
- Update and maintain Visual Daily Management performance tracker
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
- Conduct quality checks throughout the bottling process
- Cross-training in other departments to serve as a back-up as needed
- Assist setup and removal of table and chairs for scheduled events
- Contribute to a safe, productive and positive work environment at all times
- Meet performance goals and recommend improvements to safety, production methods, operating procedures, and work conditions
- Lead and motivate a team of bottling operators, ensuring proper training and task assignments
- Monitor employee performance and address any performance issues
- Coordinate process flow from production to bottling and warehouse
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong judgment and professional maturity with a track record of achieving results
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally with knowledge of bottling operations or automated machinery
- Excellent problem solving & communication skills
- Must have the ability to coach and mentor teams
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple responsibilities in a rapidly changing environment
- Knowledge of use and operation of hand tools and power tools
- Must have intermediate computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age 21 with valid driver's license
Physical Demands
- Able to stand for long periods of time on hard surfaces
- Must be able to complete repetitive motions
- Operate bottling equipment and operate basic lawncare equipment
- Must be able to push, pull and lift 50lbs
- Must be able to climb ladders and walk up and down stairs frequently
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments that include extreme cold, wet, or hot weather
- Ability to anticipate the consequences of any situation
- Acknowledge and adhere to all company policies
- Must pass physical examination, drug test, and criminal background investigation
General Responsibilities
- Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by Management
- Assists other employees in the accomplishment of company goals
- Participates in and completes company-required training programs
- Provides own transportation to and from distillery
- Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives as set forth by the company
- Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others
- Responsible for informing Manager of any existing safety issue, process deviation, product loss, unplanned outage or unexpected environmental discharge
- Maintains a high regard for the quality of the finished product produced and the work performed.
- Maintain sanitation in area of responsibility
- Able to safely operate a fork truck for unloading and staging materials (authorized personnel only)
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required by Management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
