Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Business Manager, the Department Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Department Head, Business Office, and faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology of the LSU School of Medicine. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, prepare correspondence and reports; coordinate Department Head's calendar; coordinate travel arrangements and handle all prior approval and reimbursement requests; handle purchasing; maintain and update department website; coordinate Grand Rounds and other department lectures, conferences, and events; coordinate faculty credentialing. Incumbent will utilize computer programs including, but not limited to Word, Excel, and Power Point.
