The LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, LA, Department of Medicine, Section of Infectious Diseases seeks applicants for an academic faculty position to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Rank and track to be determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience in accordance with university guidelines.Incumbent's primary duties will include serving as Medical Director for the LDH, OPH, STD / HIV / Hepatitis Program (SHHP), and will oversee the clinical training and provider detailing initiatives of the SHHP. Outpatient services at University Medical Center New Orleans may be requested at the HIV Outpatient Clinic (HOP) . Teaching and supervision of ID fellows as assigned will be included. The section offers a diverse patient population for clinical and translational research projects within LSU and with partnering institutions. Current ID faculty have funded research in the areas of new HIV therapeutics, malignancies associated with HIV, molecular diagnostics and therapeutic interventions in sexually transmitted infections. Moreover, we have collaborative projects with the NIH-funded Alcohol Research Center focusing on the intersection between HIV, alcohol, and substance use.LSUHSC offers an excellent benefit package and salary is commensurate with experience.
