Job Summary :
The Coordinator III manages all aspects of a student's academic journey in the School of Social Work with special focus on the MSW program. The graduate level student services functions are complex due to the assessment and resolution of student issues with 6 entry points online, two entry points on campus, 7 different programs of study from which a student can select each module, triages students with mental health / health issues to the appropriate resources, financial aid, compliance with CSWE (Council on Social Work Education) requirements, Graduate School and School of Social Work regulationall to ensure the integrity of the education requirements are met. The Coordinator III responsible for resolving academic, field internship, and graduation matters and to seek assistance from the Asst. Director or Director when needed. Responsibilities include, but not limited to :
Job Responsibilities
30% - Independently advise MS students by devising / updating program of study for online & main campus answering questions about timing of field internship, dropping classes, sitting out a module or semester and projected graduation date. Ensures compliance with CSWE regulations, Graduate School regulations as well as School of Social Work curriculum issues for 60 hour and advanced standing students, both online and on campus.
20% - Triages students with health / mental health issues to the appropriate resources and approves graduation related documents to ensure student has met degree requirements.
20% - Monitors academic actions and assists student accordingly with next steps. Evaluates transcripts and student records to pre-screen applications for admissions committee to ensure eligibility and fit for the profession.
20% - Recruit students by facilitating multiple monthly recruitment events both in person and online and conducts required orientation meetings seven times per year . Serves as a student advocate in disciplinary hearings.
5% - Connects students with campus resources such as Office of Disability Services, Financial Aid, Bursar's Office, Registrar's Office, Graduate School & LSU Online. Serves on school committees as assigned. Manage projects provided by Director.
5% - Other activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
2 Years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Social Work
2 Years of related experience
2 years of Post-MSW experience.
Licensed Master's of Social Worker Credentialing from the Louisiana Board of Social Work Examiners.
1-2 years of related higher education experience
