Pennington Biomedical Research Center
, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a part-time Medical Records Assistant in the Clinical Trials Unit.
The Medical Records Assistant will handle a variety of tasks related to the organization and management of patient healthcare records.
Major Responsibilities
- Ensures all patient information is kept confidential and secure, in compliance with health privacy laws.
- Performs routine filing of documents and maintains filing systems.
- Ensures patient records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to the clinical trials team.
- Copies and/or distributes correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed.
- Greets visitors, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate person or department.
Qualifications
- No experience required.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basic computer programs.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong attention to detail.

Additional Job Description:
This posting is for a part-time position with a pay rate of $10 - $14 per hour and paycycle is bi-weekly. Part-time employees are not eligible for health benefits but are eligible to accrue annual and sick leave and participate in a retirement plan.
