Job Summary:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for the production value of events that take place in the LSU Student Union Theater. Once an event is confirmed, this position works with clients to ensure all technical aspects of the production are finalized and then met during the event. This position oversees all technical staff, including professional, student, and contingent. This position will require a team player who is dedicated to the job with the willingness to work nights and weekends.
Job Responsibilities:
After each event has been confirmed by the theater manager, this position contacts clients to gauge technical needs and logistics. This position coordinates production meetings with theater staff and ensures that all aspects discussed are followed through with during production. This position will be responsible for the technical planning and execution of events which includes professional theatrical lighting design, sound design and other production needs. Creates and maintains a high standard of event presentation and provides seamless services and experiences for students, faculty, staff, and campus guests. 40%
The production coordinator supervises two professional staff members: lighting technician and stage manager. This position oversees the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of these positions as well as the back of house student staff. This position attends events, as necessary, to serve as crew chief, ensuring all expectations are being met. 40%
This position is responsible for the proper use and maintenance of all theater equipment owned by the Union Theater, organization/execution of all audio rental needs, tracking all audio expenses, and serve as audio engineer for all productions at the Union Theater. 15%

Minimum Qualifications:
Education level: Bachelor's degree
Degree Substitute: Will substitute degree with 1 year experience.
Specific Experience: Knowledge (maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting) in leading sound and video equipment and supplies including but not limited to mixers (digital and analog), amplifiers, speakers, patching, wireless microphones, EQs, video projectors monitors. Special/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to: supervise a crew of up to 6 people, climb and work on ladders, lifts, catwalks, and grids, regularly lift 50lbs or more, multi-task.
Due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position, random drug and alcohol testing is required in accordance with LSU's PS-67.
