Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing, Coding, Collections, and Insurance Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding patient diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating the billing process. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of medical records and ensuring timely reimbursement for services rendered.
Duties
- Review and analyze patient records to assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems.
- Ensure accurate medical billing by verifying patient information, insurance coverage, and coding accuracy.
- Process medical claims and follow up on unpaid claims to resolve any issues with insurance companies.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding guidelines, and billing regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the collection of outstanding payments from patients or insurance companies as needed.
- Assist in prior authorization
- Call insurance companies to follow up on claims or dispute denials
- Keep good records and organize the billing, payments, and collections
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems including ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and other relevant classifications for professionals as well as facility.
- Familiarity with medical records management and medical collection processes.
- Familiarity with medical insurances
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for accurate coding and billing practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Only position is working in person, no remote work allowed.
This position is essential for the efficient operation of our healthcare services, ensuring that all billing processes are handled accurately and professionally while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.01 - $18.00 per hour
