The Department of Kinesiology at Louisiana Tech University is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position with expertise in motor behavior (motor control, motor development, and / or motor learning) to begin in Fall 2025.
Position :
Assistant Professor. Tenure-track. Nine-month appointment.
Salary :
Commensurate with education and experience. A higher starting salary may be awarded based on professional merit (i.e., postdoctoral work or relevant professional experience).
Faculty Responsibilities :
Activities required of all tenure-track faculty : teach undergraduate and graduate courses in area of expertise, maintain a productive research agenda capable of using our Human Performance Laboratories, supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, secure internal and external funding, and curriculum development. Substantial opportunities for collaborative research exist with faculty in the College of Education and Human Sciences and Department of Nursing. Additional responsibilities include departmental, college, and university service assignments.
Required Qualifications :
- Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or related field prior to start date (ABD will be considered);
- Evidence of capability to engage in and publish research and present at professional meetings;
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of professional developments related to area of specialization;
- Experience in working with students, student-athletes, and colleagues from multi-cultural backgrounds;
Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate classes in motor development, motor learning, motor control, and other appropriate areas.
Preferred Qualifications :
Evidence of effective teaching in higher education; Desire to conduct research associated with our Human Performance Laboratories and / or collaborate with the Louisiana Tech Sports Performance Institute.

The Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Health Promotion or Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
