The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a lecturer to support the Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Technology programs.
Candidates must hold a doctorate or equivalent degree in civil engineering or a related field. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest and passion for teaching that fosters ingenuity, innovation, communication and leadership skills against the backdrop of rigorous engineering fundamentals. The successful candidate will teach courses across the curriculum including upper level Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Technology courses. These can include Water Resources, Fluid Dynamics, Civil Engineering Materials, Structures, Construction and Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, and related labs.
Lecturers are expected to serve on committees, advise students and student groups, and participate in curriculum development and accreditation efforts as part of a diverse, interdisciplinary and supportive community of learners. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong teaching skills, and a commitment to high quality university and professional service are expected. The College is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their teaching and / or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
