Overview
LATG is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support the PEO Digital & Enterprise Services DevSecOps Center of Excellence (DCE) Data Science shared services capability. This role will provide expertise in data analytics, visualization, and enterprise performance management to assess and optimize IT services health.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing data-driven strategies, shaping data models, and enabling leadership to make informed, strategic decisions. This role requires expertise in data science methodologies, automation, and cloud architectures to drive performance insights and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data analysis and visualization to assess IT service health and operational efficiencies.
- Develop data models to support enterprise decision-making and strategic leadership insights.
- Assist in designing and maintaining a centralized data lake as a single source of truth.
- Automate data pipelines and orchestration tools to ensure real-time data accuracy.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automating manual tasks and optimizing data delivery.
- Support the development of an Enterprise Performance Management strategy and a data analytics implementation guide.
- Build analytics tools that provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and key performance metrics.
- Collaborate with Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to support data infrastructure needs.
- Develop technical whitepapers and presentations to articulate data strategy and brief senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field OR equivalent experience.
- Security Clearance: Active Secret or higher. Candidates without active security clearance cannot be considered.
- Experience in Navy products, services, programs, policies, and procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with data, application, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- Experience with orchestration tools, containerization, cloud services, and data pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage and manipulate large datasets.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or other relevant programming languages for data analysis and visualization.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and statistical modeling is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-hosted applications and automation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to leadership.
