The Louisville Bats, Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, combine rich baseball tradition with a lively game-day experience at Slugger Field. Known for developing top talent and fostering community pride, the Bats are a key part of Louisville’s sports culture. The Louisville Bats are a proud member club of Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH). DBH was formed in 2021 to support, promote, and enhance Minor League Baseball through best practices, professional management, innovation, and investment.
 
Position Overview:
The Manager, Game Day Promotions & Programming for the Louisville Bats is responsible for delivering an engaging and dynamic in-game experience for fans at Slugger Field. This role oversees the planning and execution of promotions, theme nights, and video production while ensuring sponsor integration and high-quality entertainment. The position requires creativity, attention to detail, and strong leadership to manage game-day staff, coordinate production elements, and enhance the overall fan experience. This individual will play a key role in shaping the team’s entertainment strategy while supporting brand engagement and community outreach.
 
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop plan for theme nights including pregame, in-game, and postgame elements of the event and character appearances with the intent to secure sponsors. 
  • Manage execution of promotions, both sponsored and non-sponsored, as needed. 
  • Ensure event scripts are fun and interesting and that they meet team and sponsor goals. 
  • Oversee scheduling of national anthem singers and assist with necessary add-on sales. 
  • Work directly with the Marketing department to plan, coordinate and evaluate marketing plans for sponsored promotions and theme nights. 
  • Clearly communicate all elements of promotions/products/theme nights to staff, customers and public with the goal of increasing attendance at Storm Chasers events. 
  • Assist, as needed, with video shoots/appearances with Storm Chasers players, mascots, and staff for the purpose of promoting ticket and sponsorship sales. 
  • Coordinate assigned staffing of games/events, and supervise assigned gameday staff.  
  • Maintain select software systems related to game and event operations. 
  • Prepare nightly game and promo scripts, incorporating all sponsor/corporate elements  
  • Organize content on video board computers daily to match scripts 
  • Execute required MLB/MiLB/DBH initiatives and activations 
  • Produce all elements of game night show production relating to video boards, scoring, public address system, entertainment, and broadcast 
  • Hire, train, and supervise seasonal game night production/press box crew 
  • Responsible for all press box equipment (Video board, cameras/tripods, computers, laptops, broadcast/replay equipment, microphones, sound board, pitch clock) 
  • Purchase/upgrade necessary parts and facilitate equipment repairs 
  • Keep all production areas (press box, control room, camera bays) clean and presentable always 
  • Help create fresh in-game entertainment on-field 
  • Actively contribute to Promotions Team and engage in constructive discussion of promotional events 
  • Help plan and execute theme nights with creativity 
  • Hire and serve as direct supervisor of Game Production Intern 
  • Serve as primary contact for player walk-up music 
  • Design video board layouts 
  • Create graphics/animations for in-game video board and broadcast use 
  • Record and log all gameday footage for club use 
  • Other duties as assigned.  
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and within a team framework, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve objectives.  
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills, be highly motivated, and multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • A minimum of two (2) years production experience, preferably within sports or live events setting 
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.)  
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays in an outdoor environment is required. 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Passion for Sports and Entertainment 
  • Familiarity with baseball preferred  
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work on short notice  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - must work well with others at all levels of organization
