Essential Functions:
Assists in the preparation of Comprehensive Plan reports, and reviews development proposals and other planning studies
Performs preliminary analysis of land use, demographics and other information resources, and provides reports to senior staffExamples of Work:
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Assists with research and performs background analysis relating to the Comprehensive Plan, rezonings, variances, subdivisions and other similar projects
Analyzes proposals for rezonings, subdivisions and conditional use applications for compliance with regulations, statutes and applicable planning documents, and prepares recommendations
Participates in conferences with applicants and interested parties concerning proposed rezoning, subdivisions or other planning issues
Helps identify the impact of zoning and urban planning projects on the Comprehensive Plan and quality of life in the community
Assists in conducting field investigations, photographs properties, interviews residents concerning land use of subject property and surrounding uses to determine compliance with approved plans
Creates, revises and maintains databases, maps, files and other information sources
Performs related workPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work

Associate's degree

Related field
Two years of research; analytical; graphics; drafting; field surveying; zoning; urban and regional planning; or architectural, engineering or real estate technical or clerical experience

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
