Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to plan, organize and coordinate the activities of a grant program. Collect and analyze data and prepare report on projects, programs, and services.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Examples of Duties
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Researches information and collects data on grant opportunities.
- Coordinates grant program implementation.
- Gathers and analyzes data and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports on program activities.
- Meets with grant participants to discuss policies and procedures, budget, operations or issues and recommends solutions to problems.
- Completes grant applications and composes grant narrative detailing goals and objectives, how funds are to be used, how program will be monitored and the need for equipment and supplies.
- Assists in planning, developing and implementing policies, procedures and programs.
- Represents the department to governmental agencies, grant funding agencies and the public to provide information and answer questions concerning grant programs, budget, activities and policies and procedures.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.
- Two (2) years of grant writing, grant accounting, grant administration, or finance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test.
- Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony.
- Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis.
- Applicants who have illegally bought or used marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within six months of application will be disqualified.
- Applicants who have illegally sold marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within one year of application will be disqualified.
- Applicants who have illegally bought, sold, or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug, other than marijuana, without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
