UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Prepares lists, records information on forms, completes and processes standard forms, documents, and reports and corrects mistakes
Answers phone calls, provides information, takes messages, and routes calls
Composes and mails routine correspondence
Enters, codes, stores, edits and retrieves database records and files
Files documents, and maintains departmental manuals, records and files
Coordinates departmental office functions and clerical activities according to established procedures
Takes notes at meetings, prepares minutes, and represents supervisor at routine meetings
Compiles data; calculates numbers and totals; and prepares complicated reports on department operations or activities assigned by manager
Types routine memorandums, reports letters, forms and other documents
Assists in organizing clerical operations for routine program activities, develops standard forms and form letters, performs simple research, and completes other minor administrative projects
Assesses clerical work flow, methods and procedures and suggests methods to improve efficiency and solve problems
Performs related work
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirement & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of a one year business college program
Office Administration
Three years of clerical or secretarial experience

Must be vaccinated for hepatitis B, have provided evidence of immunity, or have signed a declination form within ten days of initial assignment

Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, but must include at least one year of appropriate experience
Special Requirements:
CORRECTIONS
Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice or with youth in the care, custody or supervision of Youth Development
must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 CFR 115.17 and 115.317, to include periodic post-employment criminal background checks
