Essential Functions:
Operates moderately heavy equipment and performs maintenance of public parksExamples of Work:
UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION
Observes and checks operation of equipment for malfunctions
Services and maintains automatic and manual irrigation systems
Operates assigned equipment
Services or makes minor adjustments to equipment
Performs maintenance on swimming pools, chlorinator, hydro chlorinator or comparable equipment
Performs general maintenance on golf courses, tennis courts and baseball diamonds
Performs daily maintenance on turf related equipment
Maintains greens, tees, fairways and ball fields
Assists with plumbing, concrete, or carpentry work
Shows discretion and is courteous to golfers when maintaining courses
Cut grass and uses weed eaters
Provides direction to laborers in moving, separating and loading materials
Performs maintenance on building and grounds
Uses sandblaster, jackhammer, jigsaws, and hand and power tools in the maintenance and repair of park playgrounds and equipment
Performs related workPhysical Requirement & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 70 pounds
Lifts and carries items weighing over 70 pounds in a team setting
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing
Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements
Identifies work areas needing attention
Minimum Requirements:
Six months experience working with moderately heavy equipment
Other Minimums:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
