Description
Essential Functions:
Maintains a safe and clean environment
Coordinates indoor and outdoor activities, plans and schedules programs and the use of recreational equipment and facilities
May oversee program participants
Examples of Duties
Examples of Work:
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Assists participants with the activities of daily care; including hygiene, mobility, feeding, and toileting
Works with committees or outside agencies in developing, planning, and coordinating special recreational projects in centers, schools, or other institutions
Conducts recreational programs such as; physical fitness, crafts, music, or other activities directed to specific target populations
Keeps records of attendance, accidents, vandalism and special projects, reported by subordinates to prepare reports or summaries
Instructs and participates in group activities at centers
Keeps facilities/area clean, organized and secured
Transports participants and employees to and from events
Maintains and orders supplies and equipment
Performs related work
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirement & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 70 pounds
Lifts and carries items weighing over 70 pounds in a team setting
Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Physical Education
Recreation
Related field
One year of recreation program experience
Other Minimums:
Must be available to work a varied schedule; including evenings and weekends
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
