What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Technician position at Louisville Orthopaedic Clinic?
Job Summary and Duties:
This position is responsible for performing all MRIs for all departments. This person must possess a good personality with the ability to establish good working relationships with varying personalities (patients, co-workers and physicians) You must possess good organizational skills and the ability to handle information in a confidential manner. This position requires the ability to perform office work directly related to general operations, must exercise discretion and independent judgment.
The duties include but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols
- Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment
- Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology. Radiopharmacology, and medical terminology
- Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data
- Adaptability to constantly changing imaging scenarios
- Read doctors dictations and determine what MRI, if any, are needed
- Ability to work independently and multitask
- Ensures all services are provided in a professional and safe manner
Reporting Relationship:
The MRI Technician will work under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, and will be expected to work under their own initiative.
