Louisville Title Agency is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Escrow Closing Officer to join our team. At Louisville Title Agency (LTA), the Escrow Closing Officer is responsible for the closing process and ensures all closing documents are accurate, coordinates with various parties involved, and oversees the final disbursement of funds. The Escrow Closing Officer plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth and efficient closing experience for all stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with internal teams, such as title examiners, attorneys, escrow processors, and recording and finals departments to gather information and resolve discrepancies
- Reviews closing documents for completeness and accuracy and collaborates with the processor when additional data is required
- Facilitates a comfortable and knowledgeable closing by summarizing documents and elaborating when needed
- Reviews closing packet for errors, missed signature lines or initials
- Signs and notarizes all necessary documents as Escrow Officer and Notary Public
- Coordinates wires/payoffs needed for funding and accurately pays off liens, mortgages, commissions, and financial obligations
- Coordinates with recording department for the recording and filing of closing documents
- Provides copies of closing documents to buyer and seller and settlement statements to each realtor
- Provides new homeowner with Title Insurance Policy, home warranty and payoff information for transaction
- Ensures all legal and official documentation is correctly filed and stored in the Escrow Operating System
- Manages all financial aspects after the closing process including over and short account balances, trial balance sheets and outstanding checks and invoices
- Manages any post-closing needs with lender and updates any communication form corrections in the Escrow Operating System
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certified Notary Public required
- Experience as a Title Closing Agent will make you the ideal candidate
- Background in financial services, mortgage servicing or real estate preferred
