Position Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented QA/QC Technician to join our team. This on-site position is critical for ensuring the quality and safety of utility-scale solar projects throughout their construction lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Conduct detailed inspections of materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform routine testing and verification to maintain quality standards.
- Oversee and document adherence to approved quality plans and inspection test plans (ITPs).
- Collaborate with site supervisors and contractors to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports summarizing progress and issues.
- Ensure all documentation is in compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure site operations meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements, including NEC, OSHA, and project-specific guidelines.
- Conduct audits of subcontractors to verify adherence to quality and safety protocols.
- Support the development of site-specific QA/QC procedures.
- Safety and Training:
- Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) team to ensure safety standards are integrated into quality processes.
- Provide training and guidance to field staff on QA/QC processes and best practices.
- Testing and Commissioning Support:
- Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including system tests and punch list management.
- Verify as-built documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of QA/QC experience in solar energy, construction, or a related industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, technical specifications, and standards.
- Familiarity with solar PV systems, electrical installations, and structural components.
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and software tools for documentation and reporting.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or similar QA/QC certifications.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
