What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Technician (NO RBT CERTIFICATION) position at Lovaas Center?
This posting is for individuals who do not have active RBT and Nevada registration
REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE READ):
- Meet all requirements to apply for Registered Behavior Technician certification.
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma
- Pass Background Check
- By applying to this position you will be contacted by us to help you with the registration process for both the RBT and Nevada registration.
- We will guide your completion of the 40 Hr. RBT Training
- We will help you complete the BACB Competency Assessment
Essential Responsibilities of an RBT:
- Provide direct client treatment in 1:1 and group settings, creatively utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
- Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols provided by the BCBA/BCaBA.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
- Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training related to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training to perform job responsibilities to the required standard.
Basic Duties:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
- Ability to seek and accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill-sets accordingly.
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Ability and desire to work with children between the ages of 2-17 years of age
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, including home, school, center, and community placements.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Requirement of 15-40 hrs. worked per week
Preferred availability:
- 1-7pm Monday-Friday
- Saturdays 8am-3pm
Salary Range (once RBT certification is completed)
- Opportunity for a paid internship to complete all required certifications
- RBT rates: $23.00-$27.00 Hourly
After school hours Monday - Friday
Weekends
15-40 hours
