Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in their home. The ideal candidate will have experience in geriatrics and a strong understanding of patient care dynamics in both inpatient and outpatient environments. This role is vital in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care while promoting their independence and well-being.
Schedule is Saturday and Sunday 7 am to 3 pm.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Support patients during medical appointments and procedures in various settings such as clinics, ORs, and PICUs.
- Monitor patient health by observing changes in condition and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient progress and care provided accurately in accordance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans that meet the specific needs of each patient.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or similar role is preferred, especially in settings such as Level I or Level II Trauma Centers.
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as inpatient units or outpatient clinics.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documenting patient care activities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures within different healthcare settings.

Pay: $16.99 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
