Love From USA is a specialty retailer operating in venues in Orlando, Denver Chicago’s airports along with highly trafficked locations like Mall of America and Chicago’s Navy Pier.
We are looking for a new talented member for our growing team. This individual will be a key person to our accounting department and provide analytical support for the Company’s financial dept with a focus on accounting and financial reporting. If you have a previous background in retail, it is building proformas for our growth strategy and understanding our financial metrics and using those as benchmarks in preparing budgets and other financial reporting. You will analyze bottom line Gross margins and work with other Dept to increase our financial health and growth. The position will be responsible for conducting gross-profit analyses by product category and sub-categories. We are looking for an individual that takes the initiative, is a problem-solver and is able to work collaboratively with department leaders.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks such as recording financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, reconciling bank statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, ultimately providing a clear picture of a company's financial health through accurate reporting.
- Tracking and recording financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Matching bank statements to company records to identify discrepancies.
- Processing invoices, managing payments to vendors, and collecting customer payments.
- Analyze historic inventory reports for slow-moving and discontinued inventory
- Review category and sub-category gross margins and identify below target items
- Analyze store and warehouse discrepancy reports and reconcile items
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable proposed adjustments to invoices
- Assist Buy Team and Visual Coordinator with liquidation strategy of non-core merchandise
- Evaluate product costs, freight charges, retail price points and in-store promotions for below targeted gross margin items. Assist Leadership and Buy Team with gross-margin strategies
- Assist in the development and management of financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
- Work with stores, administrative staff and company management to control expenses and minimize losses at all levels of the company
- Supervise others in accounting dept
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support business decisions, including cash flow analysis and cost accounting.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts to communicate findings to management.
- Assist in budgeting processes by analyzing historical data and projecting future trends.
- Utilize data visualization tools to present complex financial information in an understandable format.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant data for business analysis.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Employ advanced Excel skills, including VBA programming, for data manipulation and reporting.
