Job description : The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Project Managers to ensure project success through regular follow-up, metric tracking, and use of project management tools. The candidate must possess the drive to become a future leader that delivers outstanding results in a dynamic cross-functional environment.
Core Responsibilities:
The Project Management Coordinator will be responsible for providing tactical project management support including:
- Project management toolbox utilization.
- Support project manager in achievement of quality, timing, and cost targets for associated projects.
- Project management metrics tracking and report development.
- Project management audits to the process.
- Perform project financial analysis.
- Assist in project financial reporting.
- Cross functional liaison between the project manager and various support functions and team members.
- Work with site engineering & maintenance resources to develop project scope and objectives.
- Follow project front end loading process and identify project phases and design requirements.
- Develop front end loading (FEL) of capital projects and facilitate the approval process through implementation and final financial closure of projects.
- Assist in Quality Assurance package for every project.
- Provide leadership to bring the project through the approval process.
- Coordinate project Mechanical, Process & Electrical design with in-house and contracted resources.
- Communicate with multiple departments for scheduling/coordinating project start/completion dates.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and adhering to the plan and schedule.
- Control project costs by monitoring purchases, construction, and commissioning costs.
- Assist with providing daily construction management support.
- Maintains project design and commissioning documentation.
Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, electrical, mechanical, industrial) required.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience in project management via functional participation on project team.
- Strong teamwork and ability to interact with all levels of the organizations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including presentation creation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project management experience or related education.
- Engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment.
Additional Responsibilities: Potential assignments include monitoring and feedback reporting of project management metrics to business and functional units to drive improvement actions, development and execution of required project management action plans, and gate review preparation support.
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated capability and knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and programming/VBA.
