The Operations Manager serves as a cornerstone of Love INC of Sheboygan County, ensuring seamless operations, facility management, and effective team support. This individual oversees organizational systems, human resources, facilities, volunteers, and operational processes while supporting the Executive Director in leading the team toward the mission of transforming lives and communities through redemptive compassion.

This role requires a proactive and organized leader capable of managing resources, fostering collaboration, and ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Facility Management

●      Oversee the maintenance, functionality, and safety of Love INC’s facilities including office space, warehouse space, classroom space at churches, and trailers.

●      Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and updates to the facilities.

●      Maintain security protocols, including building access, locks, and emergency preparedness.

●      Manage facility supplies, including janitorial materials, office break room essentials, and storage systems.

●      Lead cleanliness efforts to ensure facilities are welcoming and professional.

●      Supervise in-house improvement projects and recruit volunteers for facilities upkeep.

●      Promote and enforce safety protocols, conducting monthly walkthroughs and maintaining first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and safety handbooks.

2. Operational Oversight

●      Develop and implement operational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

●      Manage organizational logistics, including scheduling, equipment, and resource allocation.

●      Serve as the liaison for facility vendors, contractors, landlords, and utility providers.

●      Oversee the organization’s data management systems, insurance policies, and government filings.

●      Lead the organization’s grant strategy in partnership with the grant writer to secure program funding.

●      Manage cash flow and contribute to financial oversight, including the budgeting process and annual reviews.

3. Staff Leadership and Development

●      Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and evaluation processes for all staff, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.

●      Lead team synchronization to ensure:

○      Roles and responsibilities are clear.

○      Objectives align with organizational goals.

○      Proper resourcing and accountability structures are in place.

●      Directly supervise and provide spiritual leadership to department heads, including the Connection Center Manager, Manager of Refugee Ministry, and Director of Programs.

●      Serve as part of the executive team, leading meetings and collaborating on strategic initiatives.

4. Volunteer Coordination

●      Recruit, train, and supervise facility and operational volunteers.

●      Equip volunteers for tasks such as administrative projects, cleaning, data entry, and bulk mailings.

●      Mobilize Thrivent members and Action Teams to support initiatives.

●      Foster a positive and productive environment for volunteers, acting as a key communicator between staff and volunteers.

5. Leadership and Communication

●      Act as a bridge between staff, volunteers, and the Executive Director to relay operational updates and recommendations.

●      Represent facilities and operations in executive team meetings.

●      Assist the Executive Director in planning and implementing strategies to meet organizational goals.

6. Additional Responsibilities

●      Assist in coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and ensuring meeting spaces are ready.

●      Maintain an organized filing system for office documentation and correspondence.

●      Proofread key documents for accuracy and professionalism.

●      Handle travel arrangements and special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications

●      A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and adherence to the Apostles’ Creed.

●      Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facilities management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

●      3-5 years of experience in operations, facilities management, or similar roles.

●      Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.

●      Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

●      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with facility management software.

●      Commitment to Love INC’s mission and values.

Preferred Skills

●      Nonprofit operations or facilities management experience.

●      Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety protocols.

●      Proven success in creating and implementing operational policies.

Compensation and Benefits

●      Progressive PTO plan based on years of service, maxing at 25 days.
