Orthodontic assistant
The main objective of this job is to assist the doctors with clinical procedures necessary to provide orthodontic care. You will spend most of your time working independently or supporting your fellow assistants. Other duties of this job may include learning laboratory procedures (making retainers), helping with administrative duties and participating in marketing projects. The chairside orthodontic assistant has close, personal contact with patients, you must be able to engage in conversation and entertain the patient. This job demands a high level of maturity, integrity, honesty, ethics and responsibility. Good hand-eye coordination, visual memory, and judgment of space are vital. Your day is typically very busy with many exciting procedures going on simultaneously. An orthodontic technician must be a team player, working closely with the orthodontist and other staff members while maintaining an upbeat and cheerful attitude.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Performing clinical procedures (to include but not limited to, placing and removing braces, taking tooth impressions, inserting all orthodontics appliances, performing adjustments, etc.)
*Taking X-rays and dental scans
*Taking dental photos each visit
*Communicating with patients/parents
*Cleaning and sanitizing instruments
*Be responsible for organization and restocking of your chairside unit
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
*A high school diploma
*Experience in a customer service field

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
