As a family-owned business, Love’s has been committed to providing Clean Places, Friendly Faces for more than 60 years. Love’s three-person community relations department is focused on the company’s charitable giving and volunteerism in Oklahoma City and across the nation. We are looking for an experienced Community Relations Specialist III who has a passion for developing and implementing community strategies that support the company’s pillars of giving.
In this role, you will act as a strategist, business relations partner, and project manager, leading community engagement initiatives that support key company goals. You will contribute to moderately complex projects by developing, executing, and managing community programs that enhance corporate social responsibility efforts. Your ability to analyze diverse factors, exercise sound judgment, and implement best practices will be essential in ensuring program success.
As a key liaison between the company and external stakeholders, you will cultivate and maintain productive relationships with nonprofit organizations, civic groups, employees, and senior leaders. Your strong organizational, time management, and project management skills will enable you to coordinate multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and community needs.
This full-time role requires flexibility for day, evening, and weekend availability, along with travel to community events to represent the company and strengthen external partnerships.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes strategy for annual campaigns such as United Way of Central Oklahoma campaign and Share the Love volunteer week.
Creates and implements corporate volunteer efforts to support employee engagement that align closely with corporate strategies and guidelines such as youth, education community services and veterans.
Oversees incoming online grant requests and the related approval process as well as manages the disbursement process for all approved requests. Also conducts follow up such as, donation reconciliation, managing sponsor benefits, ensuring compliance with tax department, and tracking and recording grantee outcomes.
Writes and manages content on grant management system related to grants and programs.
Assists in creating financial and impact report for monthly Donation Committee meeting.
Builds relationships with nonprofit organizations, civic groups, and schools by attending events or meetings, assessing needs and collaborating on programs to support community efforts.
Oversees the Love’s Community Events calendar and chooses candidates to attend company sponsored events.
Responsible for reviewing and providing updated information for community pages on company website.
Represents Love’s at public events, luncheons, forums, etc.
Collaborates with marketing, media and social media teams on projects for internal and external communication outlets.
Other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field
Experience:
5 years of community relations experience in a corporation or non-profit
Outstanding writing and editing skills, and experience in event set up.
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Hard skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, general PC skills, basic accounting understanding
Experience with grant management systems
Soft Skills:
Self-starter, team player, keen attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, ability to handle confidential information, excellent verbal and written communication skills, accuracy regarding communications for associates, ability to change gears quickly and efficiently, positive attitude, ability to work under general direction.
Results driven focus with the goal and ability to harnesses others’ energy to drive toward goal alignment which meets or exceeds expectations.

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
