What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Sourcing Analyst - Procurement position at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores?

BASIC PURPOSE: The Strategic Sourcing Analyst partners with stakeholders across the company to provide support for strategic sourcing projects. Activities may focus on sourcing, spend analysis, procurement data analysis and procurement support. The Sourcing Analyst will integrate the various procurement functions from front end strategic activities of sourcing and negotiation to the back end activities of procurement transaction processing and procurement enablement.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct market analysis and spend analysis on current and potential spend categories.
Prepare bid documentation for products and services within e-Procurement tool
Partner with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing opportunities, conduct sourcing events and directly negotiate with suppliers
Support or directly execute minor to moderately sized sourcing initiatives with guidance of Procurement leadership
Utilize data and business intelligence resources to identify areas of potential standardization and/or cost saving opportunities
Provide level one contract review on commercial agreements.
Develop presentations and present to management and other internal stakeholders
Interface with Group Purchasing Organization staff to evaluate GPO offerings. Analyze their value and make recommendations on next steps.
Analyze procurement processes to continuously improve collaboration and maximize efficiency across cross-functional teams
Analyze spend data to identify repetitive spend candidates and recommend appropriate buying channel.
Document system and business processes.
Create and run SAP procurement reports. Draw conclusions from data and make recommendations as appropriate.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Other duties as assigned by leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management or a business-related field preferred.
Experience:
2-5 years of Supply Chain, Finance, or Operations work experience
Effective, proven negotiation skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Enhanced understanding of Excel and other analytical tools
Ariba sourcing module experience preferred.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Procure-to-Pay systems is required.
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Skills:
Hard skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required, experience with large scale accounting systems strongly preferred.
Soft Skills: Ability to learn new software applications and computer programs; ability to type efficiently and accurately; comfortable handling multiple interruptions and adjusting priorities throughout the workday while meeting deadlines; ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with diverse individuals and to consistently handle interpersonal situations in a professional and respectful manner; excellent memory and organizational ability, and sufficient arithmetic skills to perform routine accounting and mathematical computations.

Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
