Physical Therapy Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics and acute care facilities. Your expertise in physiology and medical terminology will be essential as you assist in implementing treatment plans and ensuring optimal recovery for patients of all ages, including geriatrics and those with orthopedic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Provide direct patient care, including exercises, modalities, and functional activities.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising physical therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on care plans, home exercises, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Experience

• Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and physical therapy practices is essential.
• Experience in outpatient settings preferred; familiarity with orthopedics and geriatrics is a plus.
• Ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Previous experience in acute care or rehabilitation settings is beneficial but not required.
