What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lending Product Specialist position at Love Where You Work?
Responsible for providing sales and support for all lending products and services. Provides high quality and professional services to members. Finds ways to improve processes and procedures. Ensures our products and operations are in accordance with our established policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Underwrites and reviews loan applications and modification requests. Acts as mentor and trainer to other lending personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of lending service functions.
a. Provides lending and other service support to Credit Union employees and members.
b. Creates training and reference material regarding loan products and services and functions for Credit Union employees.
c. Conducts training exercises and classes for Credit Union employees.
2. Assumes responsibility for generating monthly sales through appropriate methods.
a. Analyzes existing membership and account data for marketing and sales opportunities.
b. Makes outbound calls to both existing members and potential members.
c. Monitors sales incentives for Credit Union employees.
3. Assume responsibility for processing loan, account, and other service applications.
a. Processes loan, and service applications, including all supporting documentation to meet program and/or underwriting requirements.
b. Underwrites and evaluates risk for lending products, and services, according to Credit Union guidelines and policies.
c. Approves loans, and services within limits of authority, if applicable.
d. Evaluates collateral and verifies loan or service documentation and credit criteria.
4. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relationships with members.
a. Provides members with professional and timely support and service.
b. Counsels’ internal personnel and members regarding lending services and financial matters as well as cross-selling additional products and services.
c. Ensures that the Credit Union's quality and professional reputation is protected and maintained.
d. Troubleshoots and resolves member concerns and/or functions with accounts or services.
5. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with area personnel and with management.
a. Assists area personnel as needed. Assists other departments as needed.
b. Completes reports and records promptly and accurately.
c. Audits loans and other service supporting documentation as required.
d. Attends meetings as required.
6. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
a. Ensures proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work area, desks, equipment, etc.
b. Exudes caring and professional attitude in all interactions with members, prospective members and coworkers.
c. Performs related departments' functions as necessary.
d. Stays informed regarding policy and procedural changes.
e. Actively and professionally cross-sells Credit Union services.
f. Completes special projects as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Records, reports, transactions, and all related documents are accurate, current, and submitted on time.
2. Loan, account and service functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
3. Good business relations exist with members. Problems and questions are courteously and promptly resolved.
4. Good working relations and communications exist with Credit Union personnel and with management. Assistance and support are provided as needed. Management is appropriately informed of area activities.
5. Loan closing activities are closely coordinated with related functions and departments. Closing documents are complete and comply with Credit Union requirements.
6. Files are current and well organized. Document preparation is accurate, neat, and timely.
7. Personal delinquency write-off numbers are in line with Credit Union objectives, if applicable.
8. The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
9. Works a regular and predictable schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Two-year degree or equivalent work experience required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE : Knowledge of lending services, policies, and procedures.
Business knowledge of business account and services.
Familiarity with business programs and service requirements.
Familiarity with general loan documentation.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three to five years of similar or related experience, particularly in a financial environment.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Good organizational skills, accurate and attentive to detail.
Solid communication skills. Ability and willingness to assist others.
Public speaking and leading group discussions in a training environment.
Able to use computer related applications.
Good math skills.
Strong public relations abilities.
Able to evaluate risk for loan underwriting.
