Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement and monitor individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to coordinate care.
- Participate in training sessions and stay updated on best practices in direct support services.
Requirements
- Experience in senior care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Background in social work or long-term care settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans is advantageous.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and first aid certification is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively within a group home environment while fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Commitment to upholding the dignity and rights of individuals receiving support.
- Must be willing to undergo background checks as required by state regulations.
