Patient Access Specialist- PRN

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is pivotal in ensuring a smooth patient experience from the moment they enter our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office operations, including scheduling, documentation review, and familiarity with electronic health record systems such Epic. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for managing patient information, coordinating appointments.

This position is a PRN position- rotating, variable schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon arrival and assist them with the check-in process.
• Review and verify patient documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Schedule appointments efficiently while considering patient needs and availability.
• Maintain organized records of patient interactions and ensure data is accurately entered into electronic health record systems.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care requirements.
• Address patient inquiries regarding services, insurance, and billing processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Proficient in documentation review and understanding of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth or Epic is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
