Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Agriculture Science Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong and broad background in agricultural education. Willing to train CDE/LDE teams and assist teaching partner in coaching/guiding all extra-curricular teams within the program. Willing to coordinate with the partner teachers. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Agricultural Science.
- Provide students with hands-on learning opportunitites, including lab activitites, greenhouse projests, and livestock care.
- Supervise and mentor students in FFA activities, including competitions (LDE, CDE,& SDE), leadership roles, and supervised agricutural experiences (SAEs).
- Assist students with FFA record books, scholarship applications, and agriculture opportunities.
- Ensure a safe learning enviroment by following best practices in laboratory, shop, and field safety.
- Stay up-to-date with trends in agricultural education and integrate new techniques into the curriculum.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited universtity
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
CDL or willingness to obtain
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Knowledge of subject(s) assigned
2. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
3. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Salary:
12 month contract/ $400 towards insurance/ plus stipend
