What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Assistant position at Loving Grace?
Loving Grace, a Christian faith-based transitional housing program, is currently seeking candidates for our Resident Assistant (RA) position. Our RAs must engender a sense of wisdom, confidence, and maturity in serving vulnerable populations while fostering our Mission, Vision, and Values, committed to demonstrating the love of Christ.

Loving Grace Resident Assistants must be able to perform the following tasks, centered on the safety and well-being of our residents. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Appropriate interactions with residents from a wide range of backgrounds in a way that exhibits the love of Christ.
Daily tasks regarding direct-resident interactions include:
- Assist residents in following their individual schedules for appointments, classes, and work
- Assist residents with budgeting, meal planning, and shopping as needed
- Provide transportation for work, school, appointments, and approved activities
- Prepare meals and teach residents proper cooking/food safety skills
- Teach residents basic life skills and household chores
- Model leisure and recreational activities during free time with residents
- Write detailed, yet concise, shift reports
- Remain professional, observing boundaries, and work etiquette with residents and colleagues at all times
- Attend regular staff meetings and professional trainings
Job requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class E license (must be obtained within the first month of employment)
- Ability to pass a full background check including Department of Motor Vehicle records
- Willingness to work with women that may have a history of trauma or mental illness
- One year of experience working with youth is preferred
- Flexibility to be scheduled across multiple shifts as needed including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

- High school or equivalent (Required)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
- Joplin, MO 64801: Relocate before starting work (Required)
