Healthcare Manager Job Description
Job Title: Healthcare Manager
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (CEO)
Overview
The Healthcare Manager is responsible for managing the change, growth and performance of Loving Hearts of LA as agreed with the Chief Executive Officer. In addition, the Healthcare Manager is responsible for meeting the challenges of innovation and empowerment implicit in the Mission Statement of Loving Hearts of LA, delivering and ensuring quality, a breadth of opportunity and professional support with the highest level of respect to ensure the dignity of the clients of Loving Hearts of LA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Human Services area, Including but not limited to: Nursing, Physical Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Rehabilitation Counseling or Health Care Administration
- At least 4 years of experience in working with people who have disabilities and/or people who are elderly
- Resident of Louisiana
- At least 2 years of experience in supervision
- Knowledge of the OCDD and OAAS funded services
- Current Drivers License
- Current vehicle insurance
- Current vehicle inspection
- Three valid references (Employment is preference; personal will be considered)
- Criminal background check clearance
- Driving history clearance

Essential Functions:
- Be a role model for emulating the philosophy of Loving Hearts
- Be a full time staff member of Loving Hearts
- Oversee all aspects of Loving Hearts operations and services
- Be available in person or by telecommunication at all times to assure smooth and continuous service delivery Loving Hearts of LA Policy and Procedures 21
- Designate in writing a person, who meets the requirements, to assume authority and control when not available
- Employ qualified staff
- Assure that services are delivered according to the CPOC and ISP
- Supervise the following staff: Personnel Staff and Direct Support Worker
- Assure that all staff receives the required training, both orientation and annual, as needed to carry out responsibilities
- Ensure that all staff has at least annual evaluations on their work performance
- Assure that the services meet all of the state and federal regulations and that all required licenses or certifications are maintained
- Communicating with HR on all staffing needs, disciplinary actions, terminations and client discharges
- Ensure that Loving Hearts remains financially sound by implementing and ongoing, accurate and effective budgeting system
- Ensure billing is conducted as required
- Assure the necessary supplies are available
- Ensure implementation of Loving Hearts Quality Enhancement Process
- Coordinate all communication with program offices or state offices
- Lead any internal investigation or assign a staff to lead internal investigations
- Conduct unannounced supervision visits to DSWs 60 days of hire and annually thereafter
- Assure all people supported by Loving Hearts have current plans to support their desires and needs
- Attend CPOC meetings unless otherwise directed
- Assure services are delivered as per CPOC and/or ISP
- Monitor and document services delivered
- Request team meetings when changes are needed
- Coordinate all admissions and discharges
- Provide on-call duties
- Review timesheets and progress notes weekly for accuracy
- Lead central office staff meetings and meetings with non-professional staff when necessary
- Act as a liaison between Loving Hearts and families, support coordinators, program offices, community, regulatory agencies, and other provides of service
- Abide by and enforce all agency Policies and Procedures
- Update and/or revise policy and procedures
- Review policies and procedures at least annually
- Others duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Continuous grasping and repetitive movement with fingers, hands, wrists, and arms
- Continuous reaching, alternating between shoulder level and above-shoulder-level height
- Frequent twisting and bending
- Occasional pushing and pulling
- Occasional climbing of ladder/step stool
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
