Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care and a strong understanding of patient observation and monitoring. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing and reporting any changes in their condition to the healthcare team.
- Engage with clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Assist clients with mobility and lifting as needed, ensuring their safety during transfers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Work effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum, employing tailored approaches to meet their unique needs.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records of client progress.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Strong skills in patient observation and monitoring to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential.
- Ability to assist with lifting and mobility support for clients.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed to accommodate client schedules.
