What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Low Cost Spay Clinic?
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Provide assistance during surgical procedures
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals before, during, and after procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment for their animals
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred
- Certification as a veterinary technician (CVT) or licensed veterinary technician (LVT) is a plus
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior, handling, and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with common veterinary medications and treatments
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Please note that experience or knowledge in dog training or pet grooming is not required for this position. However, if you have experience in these areas, it may be considered a valuable asset.
