What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Brake Operator position at Low Country Aerospace?
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal sheets according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols to determine the correct dimensions and tolerances
- Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet the required specifications
- Use hand tools, such as calipers, to measure and inspect finished parts for accuracy
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during production
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Previous experience operating press brake machines or similar equipment
- Preffered experience operating Safan Darley machines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols
- Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to fabricate parts accurately
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines
- Knowledge of GD&T symbols and their interpretation
- Ability to assemble parts according to specifications
- Experience with quality inspection techniques
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) and milling machines is a plus
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Proficient in using hand tools, such as calipers
