PURPOSE
Serve as an integral part of the Production team as a Cabinet Assembler while upholding LCCM’s CAN DO IT core values. Ensure that materials are assembled under optimum conditions of quality, productivity, timeliness, and cost effectiveness. This includes, but is not limited to: Maintenance & Safety, Material Management, Quality Control, and Cabinet Assembly Operations. This is a non-exempt position.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance & Safety
· Keeps assembly area clean and organized.
· Perform routine maintenance on machines as required to include edge banders, hinge machine, pinch roller, slider saw, laminate saw and compound miter.
· Attend required safety meetings and actively participate in additional safety training/requirements, as needed. Follows all safety protocol and looks for new solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or prevention measures.
Material Management
· Accurately log materials when pulled from inventory to a job.
· Quality inspects materials prior to use. Report defects in prefabricated parts to lead. Report defects in hardware to Production Support Specialist.
· Coordinates with Production Support Specialist on any discrepancies in inventory and any needs for additional inventory.
Quality Control
· Quality checks prefabricated parts prior assembly to include condition, quantity, and measurements.
· Quality checks equipment and tools to avoid damaging materials.
· Quality checks processed materials prior to leaving the Department.
Cabinet Assembly Operation
· Able to read and follow shop drawings to assemble prefabricated parts accurately and efficiently into cabinets.
· Complete all other assembly functions to include edge banding, laminating, filing, and installing hardware.
· Ensure seams are flush, edges are filed, and cabinets are built to specification of shop drawings before leaving department.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
· Background in construction or manufacturing required.
· Knowledge of carpentry, cabinetry, and/or millwork required.
· Basic math skills and the ability to accurately read a tape measure are required.
· Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
· Be able to work standing for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds and have full range of motion.
· Knowledgeable and experienced with shop drawings.
· Forklift Certification is required.
· Must be able to work in areas exposed to paint, stain, glue fumes. Masks and/or respirators will be provided if desired
Job Type: Full-time
