What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Operator B position at Low Temp Industries Inc?
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examine surfaces for scratches, defects and other defectives prior to shipment and make minor repairs;
- Apply undercoating for required sealing against entrance of dust, dirt, and foreign materials;
- Use an acid burner to remove black from steel;
- Seal cracks and de-burr.
- Compares items with customer's orders and other identifying data;
- Apply labels on equipment according to UL specifications;
- May wrap and protect equipment for safe transport or storage;
- Load equipment for shipment to the customer;
- Move tractor-trailers on the yard;
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, and work procedures;
- Conform with all safety rules and use all required safety equipment;
- Cleans work area using broom, shop vacuum, and/or mop to maintain a safe, clean working area;
- Other support functions as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-4 years of relevant manufacturing or quality assurance experience
- Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings
- Ability to interpret UL standards
- Ability to move tractor-trailers
- Understands the priority of the daily tasks
- Communicate well with all levels of personnel
- Must be willing to work within an environment containing dust, and high levels of noise
- Must have forklift experience or the ability to learn.
- Work as part of a team and also independently
- Must be active physically and able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods, sit, reach, climb, and carry/lift to 100 lbs.
- Must have own tools as required by the Company
- Must be able to use a variety of tools including hammers, pliers, cutters, tape measure, air tools, etc.
- Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as delivery of components dictates.
